1. Commissioned Study and Research

Alongside self-initiated study and research, the EHRF undertakes study and research projects from other institutions such as expressway companies.

  • Study and research on highways in foreign countries
  • Gathering information on highway-related issues in foreign countries
  • Study and research on promotion of highway use
  • Studying methodologies to increase highway use using marketing methods
  • Study and research on highway technologies
  • Studying latest highway technologies including disaster prevention facilities in tunnel structures and tunnel lighting technologies

2. Experts Assembly for Disaster Management

Jul. 2004 Flood in Nigata
Since expressways play great roles both in transport and in domestic freight, so that expressways are expected to be restored its function even after getting damaged by natural disasters such as earthquake or flood. EHRF assembles experienced technical experts of highway engineering who would volunteer in such cases. These experts will participate in assistant to inspections or QC in restoring works or management of those works.
